Update on Lauren

Lauren's been terribly congested for over a month now...constant runny nose, coughing so hard she throws up, broken blood vessels in her eyes and face from her constant coughing, and pour eating.  At her 9 month check up, the pediatrician added the antibiotic amoxicillin and benadryl to her regimen thinking she could possibly have a sinus infection.  After this didn't work, last week, the pediatrician added Nasonex nasal spray to the regimen.  Then, I get the call from daycare Friday saying she had a fever (never fails on a holiday weekend), so called the pediatrician back and they put her on the antibiotic augmentin.  FINALLY, she seems to be on the mend.  Not sure if it's the antibiotic or the Nasonex, just glad something is working. She's now had 2 good nights of only a few coughs, and good days too.  Hopefully, she can continue to get well.
In other news, she's quirky...her little personality is starting to really show.  If you're holding her, and she really likes something, she'll get this huge grin and her little feet will just start kicking. We call them her "happy feet."  On the other hand, if she doesn't want something like medicine or her bottle, she'll lock her mouth shut, and there's no getting it in unless you hold her down or trick her and pretend to give her a binky.  She's trying to crawl.  She just can't figure out how to get the one leg unstuck.  Once she's had enough "trying" to crawl, she ends up on her belly and scoots backwards until she can't go any further.   She's also pulling up.  Her favorite place to do this is in the tub while trying to give her a bath.
Last night I was trying to feed her and she wanted nothing to do with her food until we started feeding her with a "big" spoon...no more baby spoons for her...little nut!
