Alli's first dentist appointment

No pictures in this post...since I had Alli in my lap.  Alli went to the dentist for the first time yesterday. She did pretty good. She was all excited because we had seen a Caillou episode where he went to the dentist, so it peaked her interest. She did really well for the hygienist. Everything she asked her to do, she did. She even sat in the big chair all by herself.  Blair, the hygienist, cleaned her teeth, flossed, and took x-rays. Alli wasn't too fond of the flossing.  While we waited for the dentist she wanted to sit in my lap, and as soon as he came in, she had the vulcan death grip on me. He was a big man, but got down on her level and talked to her, and she just buried her head in my chest. She wanted nothing to do with him! Nothing he did made her smile or anything. I found him quite entertaining.  Alli's now in the stage where boys are "yucky", so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not.  So, she ended having her exam in my lap. At first, she wouldn't open her eyes or her mouth.  Dr. Jones finally was able to coax her into opening her mouth, but not her eyes.  After he counted and looked at her teeth, Blair, the hygienist painted on the fluoride treatment, which they told her tasted like bubblegum...she informed them they were incorrect. Dr. Jones said her teeth are looking good, and best of all: No cavities!  They did give her a new Dora toothbrush and toothpaste, a sticker, and a bouncy ball, which she seemed happy about, but said she didn't want to go back even for a prize!

This past weekend, Chris and I dropped Alli off at my parent's house and had a much needed long weekend at the beach!  The weather was awesome and we got to enjoy some alone time...thanks MiMi and Papa!

Happy Father's Day

It's a little late, I know, but just wanted to wish Chris, Papa, and Pappy and Happy Father's Day.  This year, we took Chris to Sullivan's in downtown Anderson for brunch, and he got a new grill!  Happy Father's Day!

Summer Gymnastics

Alli is taking a summer gymnastics class at Foothills Gymnastics and Cheer Center.  I think she's really enjoying it so far. There's only 4 kids in her class and they are all about the same age.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get any pics during the class, but afterwards they have an inflatable whale that the kids can bounce in and it has a big slide that they get to go on.  I think she likes that best!

Alli's first pedicure

Last Friday, Alli woke up not feeling good, so I took the day off...as the morning went on, she started to feel better, so we went about running some errands like getting the car's oil changed, alignment checked, and tires rotated.  While we waited on the car, we had our toes done.  It was Alli's first time.  She was so excited to see the special butterfly chair for her.  She did a great job at sitting pretty still.

Unfortunately, after all of this fun, she puked in the Chick fila and ran a fever the rest of the weekend.  At least she enjoyed getting her toes done!  She's all better now!
