Our good friends The Richardson's organized a BBQ fundraiser for Lauren and CF after Sunday's church service. The week before, the church took rsvp's and the number kept creeping up. There were a few moments of panic, but turns out, no need for panic God provided enough food! Jason and Chris smoked 165lbs of pork butts! The church set up enough tables and chairs for 250 people and almost all were taken! Chris and I were overwhelmed with how supportive our church family was. We had everyone sign a frameable mat to hang in Lauren's room as a reminder of all who love her. A love offering was collected to go towards Lauren's future medical expenses and the grand total collected was $11,008...YES~you read that correctly.
Chris and I were speechless. We couldn't believe that many people turned out in the cold and rain to support Lauren and our family. It was very much God's reminder to us that God is going to take care of Lauren and our family and that we are not on this journey alone.
