Sorry all the pics are sideways...not sure why that's the case, but you get the gist...
Alli and I have been able to spend some time going on "dates" recently. I can't believe she's going to be heading to kindergarten in just a few short weeks, so I wanted to spend some special time with her before the big day.
I took Alli to her first movie at the movie theater. We saw "Despicable Me 2." She wanted to see that because of all the funny little yellow men (minions) on the commercials. I think she liked it...she's always been really sensitive to loud noises (never liked the vacuum, lawn equipment, etc). It's been SOOO long since I've been to a movie, I forgot how loud they are. She sat in my lap with her hands over her ears pretty much the entire movie. She did enjoy the popcorn though!
We are STILL-3 weeks into getting a new roof. Between the hot temps and all the rain, it's been a slow process, but as long as they do it right, I'm ok with it.
Lauren had her quarterly check-up with the pulmonologist. They were very pleased with her growth. She weighed 21.8 lbs, and was 29.25 inches tall...for a "failure to thrive" to come this far, we're really pleased. Now to keep up this growth as she's now on the move and we transition her away from the bottle to cow's milk and table foods! Lauren can now say: "bye-bye," "mum-mum," "dad-dee," bear," and "bay-bee." Her signing skills include waving, pointing, the sign for "more", and the sign for "all done." She's a crawling pro, is pulling up on everything, and is now doing the "crab crawl" more to get around. It looks like she'll be just like Alli with only the 2 bottom teeth for her first birthday (the 2nd bottom one just popped through).
We've got a busy rest of the summer. Our plans include: Lauren's 1st Birthday, heading to Memphis, and the beach! We can't wait!
In case you'd like to see Lauren on the move and hear her infectious laughter...
