Our turtle named Caillou

Last Sunday as we were driving home from church, we saw a turtle in the middle of the road.  It was a busy intersection, so we thought we'd stop and "save" the turtle.  Chris hopped out of the car, picked up the turtle, and put it in the back of the Pilot...poor little guy was sliding all around in the back the whole way home.  When we got home we decided to make a little home for it and let Alli inspect it.  She named it Caillou...not as imaginative as my childhood pet turtle, Kalocka.  We weren't exactly sure what kind of turtle it was...we figured since it hadn't snapped yet, it wasn't a snapping turtle.  After a little internet research, we determined it was an Eastern Painted turtle.  They live mostly in the water, so we decided let the turtle go at the pond across from our house.  Hope he likes his new home!
