There has been a lot going on since my last post. Happy anniversary to us~ Chris and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on Dec. 13! We went for some much needed time away to Gatlinburg, TN. We stayed at a bed and breakfast, and had a nice time not having to do anything! We even got to see snow~we left 70 degree weather here in Clemson and ended up in 40 degree weather there. It actually felt like Christmas! We did a little shopping, went to a petting zoo (see the alpaca below), went horseback riding, ate a lot, and enjoyed some time alone...We weren't used to the quiet.
Alli turned 9 months on Dec. 15. We took her to her check up on Friday. Dr. Wilson is quite impressed with her. She can now say "pretty tree"...it comes out as "petty shree," but, cute none the less. She's quite the ham. She loves to be the center of attention. I think the little bit of stranger anxiety she had is gone. She has quite the little personality...like me, she's a little on the inpatient side. We still haven't found anything she doesn't like. She's quite fond of salt water taffy too! She's really enjoyed the extended Christmas we have had (Christmas with Chris' sister Saturday and my extended family Sunday).
Here were her stats:
height: 28in (almost 75th percentile)
weight: 21lbs, 10.5oz (almost 90th percentile)
head circumference: 17.5in (almost 50th percentile)
We stood in line for an hour last Tues for Alli to sit on Santa's lap. She did really well...no crying or anything and even smiled. Although we did have to pay $20 for 2 5x7 pictures of creepy eyed Santa (see below), it was worth it.
We're ready for Christmas at our house. All the shopping is DONE, and mostly wrapped. I spent Friday at home baking...it's not Christmas until I have baked. We have cookies, toffee and haystacks galore. I ran out of chocolate to dip the oreos in, so will do those this week. The cake balls turned out even better than expected!
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year~God Bless!
